What is RCIA?  The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) is for anyone seeking to be baptized and/or enter into the Catholic Church or for adult Catholics, over the age of 18, seeking completion of the Sacraments of Initiation (e.g., Confirmation or First Communion).

"In the sacraments of Christian initiation we are freed from the power of darkness and joined to Christ's death, burial, and resurrection.  We receive the Spirit of filial adoption and are part of the entire people of God in the celebration of the Lord's death and resurrection." (from the General Introduction to RCIA, 1)

Saint Francis of Assisi Church welcomes those who want to join themselves to Christ through the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist.  We also welcome Christians from other Christian communions who, already baptized, wish to complete their sacraments of initiation in the Catholic Church.

RCIA is also intended for Catholics returning after some absence from the Church to the practice of the Catholic faith.

RCIA meetings at Saint Francis of Assisi Church are scheduled based upon weekly attendance at Masses, and the schedules of those adult learners who are participating.  The topics studied, prayed on and pondered reflect themes present in the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
