Religious Education

Religious Education here at St. Francis of Assisi Church is comprised of several different programs for all ages.  Our Religious Education is a life-long learning process helping us to grow in and live our faith.

Our Parish family has five main areas that comprise our Religious Education programs:

  • Sacramental prepartion - Baptism, First Reconciliation, First Communion, Confirmation, and Marriage.
  • Religious Education - for students in Kindergarten thru 8th grade
  • Youth Ministry/Comfirmation Preparation - for those in their high school years
  • Rite of Christian Initiation (RCIA) - for those wishing to learn more about and become a member of our Catholic Faith Community.
  • Adult Education - for those life long learners who are amoung us.

In addition, the Archdiocese of Hartford offers programs for those individuals who wish to learn more about their faith.

These are:

  • Catholic Bible School - four-year training/formation program for Catholic adults interested in learning more about the Bible. Every book of the Bible is studied.
  • Lay Ministry - 2-year training program for lay men and women interested in volunteer ministry within their parishes. Areas of ministry include Liturgy, Bereavement, RCIA, Social Justice and many others. Continuing education workshops are also provided for commissioned lay ministers.

Religious Education Classes will begin again in September 2015.  Watch for starting date and calendar.

Have a great summer!
